Junqi Game Rules
Goal
The goal is to capture the opponent's Flag. The first player to capture the opponent's Flag wins the game.
The Board


Soldier Station
A normal space. Pieces can move on or off these spots and can attack or be captured.

Campsite
A piece in this space is protected and cannot be attacked.

Headquarters
The Flag is held in one of these two spaces. Pieces in Headquarters cannot move.

Railroads
Pieces can move any number of spaces along a railroad in a straight line. Engineers can turn corners.

Setup Phase
Players start by arranging their pieces on their half of the board. The pieces are invisible to the opponent during the entire game.
The flag must be placed in one of the two headquarters and cannot move.
Bombs cannot be placed on the front line.
Landmines must be placed on the last two rows.
Gameplay Phase
Movement
Players alternate turns. Pieces move one space at a time along lines, or multiple spaces on Railroads.
Attacking
When a piece attacks an opponent's piece, the ranks are compared. Higher rank captures lower rank. Equal ranks destroy both pieces.
Special Rules
0: Bombs destroy any piece they attack or are attacked by, and are removed from the board.
10: Landmines destroy any piece that attacks them, except Engineers. Engineers capture Landmines.
9: Engineers can turn corners on the railroad.
1: If the Marshal is captured, then the location of the Flag will be exposed to the opponent.
